Brian Shobe
As Policy Director for the California Climate and Agriculture Network (aka CalCAN), Brian Shobe has spent the past eight years advocating for research, technical assistance, and incentives to support farmers and ranchers in advancing agricultural climate solutions like on-farm renewable energy, irrigation efficiency, prescribed grazing, and healthy soils practices. In recognition of this work, he received the 2023 Policy Champion of the Year Award by the Community Alliance with Family Farmers. Prior to CalCAN, Brian worked as a Government Resources Advisor for the Farmer Veteran Coalition, as a Congressional Hunger Fellow for the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition, and as a farmworker for farms in three states, including his family's farm in North Dakota.
Brian is a member of the Farmer Justice & Advocacy Committee.
